Tim Walker Shoots Mulberry SS 11 Campaign

January 7, 2011 by cheriecity

Mulberry launches its stunning Spring Summer 2011 campaign featuring the doll-like Lindsay Wixson and Nimue Smit, shot by legendary photographer Tim Walker.

Inspired by the quintessentially English novel, The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, the Mulberry girls can be found creating their own fables among a flurry of flowers with piglets and the brand new Tillie bag to keep them amused.

Styled by Edward Enninful, the Spring Summer look is fresh, crisp and ultra girly with peter pan collar shirts, gathered skirts, classic macs with a Mulberry twist, a-line pencil skirts and ruffled sports jackets is pastel and sorbet shades.

The beautiful, historic backdrop is Ellingham Hall, a stately home in rural Northumberland (my home county).  A 17th century country house, set among the rolling hills and the rugged coastline, Ellingham Hall is perfect for dreaming up enchanted tales.

The campaign is classic Tim Walker – from the stately location to the roaming cuddly creatures, pastel shades and hazy light streaming from the windows.

While Mulberry continues in a catwalk-led direction, making the brand a serious luxury goods contender, it has stayed true to its British heritage and celebrates it.

Odd how Mulberry and Dolce both have ‘Secret Garden’ collections (even if the latter is the beauty collection).

This one is closer to Frances Hodgson Burnett in feel.

I imagine Dolce’s secret garden to be all seductive and mystical. Or like the Light Blue advert on dry land!

The Greek gods have been shining down on @oma.lond The Greek gods have been shining down on @oma.london, one of London's best new modern Greek spots. Chef & restaurateur @david.carter.uk (of @smokestakuk & @manteca_london) has taken over two floors at Borough Market, with casual, moody @agora.ldn souvla bar and the brighter, sleeker Oma above.

Dishes are made for sharing and feature eclectic flavours from around the Med. I visited for my birthday lunch and it was just as delicious as expected.

We tried...

⭐️ Hummus, masabacha, green zhoug

⭐️ Baba ghanoush, tahini, Jerusalem artichoke crisps

⭐️ Wildfarmed laffa & acma verde

⭐️ Lobster bisque borek

⭐️ Wild red prawn giouvetsi, deep-fried prawn butter

Everything was high quality and richly flavoured, and my favourites were the moreish dips and pillowy breads. Next time, I would order a salad or ceviche to add some freshness, as it's all rather decadent!

This 'proper' pub off the Quayside has a Michelin Bib Gourmand and is known as one of the best places to eat in Newcastle.

We enjoyed three delicious courses for just £20:

⭐️ Spiced sweetcorn soup with brown crab toast

⭐️ Crispy lamb scrumpets with a herb and caper relish

⭐️ Slow-cooked pork collar with summer squash, fine beans and oregano

⭐️ Salt cod fish cake with spinach, chickpeas, mussels and aioli

⭐️ Chocolate mousse with raspberries and praline

⭐️ Lemon syrup sponge with Jersey cream

Everything was exceptional, and I'd definitely go back and try the burger or fish and chips.

Ad| Staying @purohotels Krakow Stare Miasto on my Ad| Staying @purohotels Krakow Stare Miasto on my trip with @jet2pics was a real treat, as it's already one of my favourite hotel brands. PURO has properties in most major Polish cities and this one didn't disappoint.

Each hotel is individually designed and has the signature PURO social lobby lounge with a free coffee machine. This one also offers guests a free walking tour of the Old Town on Saturdays and free tickets to @mocak_krakow.

Our room was cosy with retro wood panelling, a jazzy rug, the most comfortable bed, big TV and a great bathroom with full-size products from Polish skincare brand @alba1913.

The breakfast buffet in Hint restaurant was excellent and I loved that you could order avo toast & poached eggs or a croque madame to make it brunchy.

With a location next to Central Station and the shiny Galeria Krakowska mall, it's the perfect choice for a city break in Krakow.
