About

Chérie City is a guide to finding the best places and hidden gems in the world’s coolest cities.

Chérie City is for those design enthusiasts who are equally enthralled by Eastern European artistic squat communities, tiny Paris bistros by Michelin star chefs and afternoon Pret-a-Portea at The Berkeley.

Discover off-the-map hidden bars and cafes, find out about upcoming events and get the low-down on the obvious city must-sees.

Chérie City is edited and designed by Neilufahr Alimohamadi, a London-based freelance journalist and travel addict.

Chérie City has been live since July 2009 and has been featured in Time Out London and Thomas Cook Magazine.  It was also nominated in the Top 20 Stylish City Blogs by Style-Passport and Hg2.

ABOUT THE GIRL…

I am a half Iranian, half English girl who left Newcastle for the bright lights of London in 2008.  I spent four dreamy years in the land of woolly jumpers and everything twee, studying MA English Literature (with a dash of French) at University of Glasgow.

A firm believer in the DIY approach, I’ve run Petty Vendetta club night at Barfly Glasgow (DJ and band booking) and produced the print zine Smoother & Younger.  This led me to starting Chérie City, which has taken me around the world, exploring and writing about Beirut, Toronto, Ghent, Paris, New York, Doha, Singapore…

I specialise in online journalism and have worked for Sugarscape.com, Metro newspaper and Universal Music Group and contributed to Dazed Digital, NME, Gigwise, Music Week and Art Rocker.  I have built websites for private clients and am available for social media consulting and bespoke travel planning.

My favourite things are my bi-annual trips to Paris, Comme des Garçons perfumes, pugs and poms, fashion and art exhibitions, French comedies, skiing and the fresh mountain air, Sunday roasts, Mexican food, table books and my Gameboy.

This is a beautifully written blog which encapsulates each of the collections without one unnecessary word.

I work in the industry and its great to see your writer can relay the essence of the collections without pretension or snobbery.

    Well done
