Cara Delevingne Fronts Mulberry Autumn/Winter 13 Campaign

June 26, 2013 by

Mulberry campaigns are always whimsical and fairytale-inspired, so who better to choose as the face of the new season than the impish, mischievous British model Cara Delevingne.  Closing the Spring/Summer 2013 show at London Fashion Week was a hint that the brand had its eye on Cara as the next Mulberry Girl.  Will a ‘Cara’ bag be soon to follow?

The Mulberry Autumn/Winter 2013 campaign is a darker, more romantic departure from last season’s pastel underwater fantasy world.  The images were shot on location at Shotover House in Oxfordshire by renowned photographer and long-time Mulberry collaborator Tim Walker, directed by Ronnie Cooke Newhouse.

Shona Heath’s striking set features a woodland scene inside the manor house, with a tree covered in purple flowers and real owls surrounding Cara.  This is Mulberry at its English  eccentric best, telling the story of an aristocratic yet quirky girl alone in an enchanted stately home.

Styled by Jane How, Cara’s looks include luxurious new season bags such as Willow, the new ladylike Primrose, the classic Bayswater and the new Bayswater double zip tote.  Colour ways are rich, opulent colours such as oxblood, taupe, navy and emerald.

The clothes seem more grown up and elegant than previous seasons, with minimalist, beautiful tailoring and gorgeous fabrics like cashmere, nappa leather and camel-hair wool.  The oxblood heels are definitely on my wish list.
