Seascape Island Apothecary is one of my favourite new skincare discoveries, presented at the Handpicked Media London Fashion Week Suite at One Aldwych. Inspired by the idyllic beaches of Jersey, Seascape uses local produce and extracts from herbs distilled on the island to create luxurious, natural bath and body products.
Seascape offers therapeutic, beautifully-packaged creams and oils in seven different ranges – Unwind, Uplift, Refresh, Revive, Les Petits, Maternity and Homme.
I was delighted to try the Unwind Body Lotion (£16) in action with not one but two relaxing hand massages by healer Hayley Newton. The body lotion is hydrating and nourishing yet not overly greasy and is made with lavender from the Jersey Lavender Farm in St. Brelade and aromatic Ylang Ylang. The invigorating, warm aromas are uplifting, subtle and the lotion is ideal for slathering on at the end of the evening to relax before bed.
The Refresh Hand & Nail Cream (£10) has a base of Jersey lavender and includes lemongrass and geranium to perk up the skin and the senses. It’s the kind of easily-absorbed hand cream that you can apply during the day without being too oily.
Another favourite is the Peppermint Lip Balm (£10) with peppermint essential oil, Jersey beeswax and honey from Jersey Beekeeper Francois Le Luyer’s apiary and jojoba seed oil. I found it very soothing and the formula is quite thick and waxy, so it doesn’t slip over the lip line.
Seascape offers high quality natural skincare with no chemical nasties at a moderate price. It’s the perfect ‘go to’ brand for a little bit of Jersey beach life at home.
