Print Club London Presents BLISTERS – The Directors Cut

August 31, 2012 by

This weekend, screen printing studio Print Club London presents it fourth annual show, BLISTERS – The Directors Cut.

Forty established and emerging illustrators, as well as street artists and designers, will show their prints, inspired by iconic and cult movies.

The brief for the show was to create a screen print based on a movie poster without referencing the film title.  Over 1000 entries were submitted and BLISTERS will showcase the prints of the final 40 artists.

Artists include Kate Moross, Anthony Peters aka Imeus, Philip Morgan, Ryan Callanan aka RYCA, Concepción Studios, Fran Marchesi, Alice Hoult, La Boca and Chloe Batchelor.

On the opening night, there will be film screenings, including a short film produced by the studio, showing the lead up to the show, and shot using Lomography’s LOMOKINO camera.  Ruby’s Bar will also be on hand to serve film-themed cocktails, hot dogs and popcorn.

Print Club London was founded by Fred and Kate Higginson and Rose Stallard, with the aim of encouraging people to buy original artwork by keeping prices affordable.  All limited edition prints at BLISTERS – The Directors Cut will be signed by the artists and are all priced at £40….and what better time to pick up a unique piece than pay day!

The Print Club team also run fine art studios Absorb Arts and creative hub Millers Junction – both spaces will be open to the public on the Friday night and Saturday day offering the public a chance to see designers and artists at work.

BLISTERS – The Directors Cut runs on Friday 31st August (private view – guest list now closed) and Saturday 1st September, 12-6pm at MC Motors – 28 Millers Avenue, Dalston, London E8 2DS
