Valentine’s Day in London

London isn’t usually top of the list of romantic cities, but there is no shortage of places to get all smooshy.  If you’re still looking for ideas to impress, read on…

Cafe Luc is so romantic and intimate that every day could be Valentine’s Day, but they’ve really excelled for the big night with an exquisite set menu.

For each course, there are three delicious options, including:

- Pan fried escalope of foie gras with lamb lettuce salad and cherry griottes flambées.
- Cafe Luc Monkfish medaillon with saffron potatoes and artichokes, Monbazillac sauce.
- Peppermint and chocolate mousse feuilleté, hot chocolate sauce.

The Valentine’s Menu is £45 per person for three courses.

Flemings Mayfair is a real hidden gem – a plush boutique townhouse with an enviable address – and the afternoon tea is out of this world!

Indulge in the Traditional Afternoon Tea (from £23.50) – a pot of loose leaf tea served with a selection of finger sandwiches, fruit scones with clotted cream and jams, slices of Victoria Sponge Cake, mini Primrose Bakery cupcakes and an array of petit fours.

For a really original date, catch a flick at The Secret Cinema.  The location and film are top secret, so it could be a romantic classic or anti-Valentine’s Day movie, who knows!

Just register online and all will be revealed…

To be driven around town like a Princess on Valentine’s Day, just flag down a special Marc Jacobs Daisy or Lola black cab.

As if we didn’t love Marc Jacobs enough already, he has enlisted selected London cabbies to offer free taxi rides and save our tired toes.

So, what will you be doing for Valentine’s Day?  Comment and share your tips…

It’s a really interesting menu. I’ll be spending Valentine’s Day with my dad, skiing and eating fondue in Switzerland…how romantic lol!
