Chérie Loves: Delphine-Charlotte Parmentier

August 7, 2010 by

Delphine-Charlotte Parmentier’s striking, contemporary jewellery has been on my wish list for many years, since discovering her stylish boutique on rue du Bourg-Tibourg in the Marais, Paris.

Accessing her collections has been near impossible, unless I’ve been in Paris with enough cash to treat myself to a piece, but now Kabiri are stocking Delphine-Charlotte Parmentier at their London stores and online.

Large Tie Necklace, £624

Delphine-Charlotte Parmentier has a strong high fashion association and started as a freelance accessories designer, working with Jeanne Lanvin, Thierry Mugler and Claude Montana.

She later set up her brand and workshop and began creating bespoke pieces for a number of fashion houses, including Ungaro, Christian Dior, Christian Lacroix.

Opening her first Paris boutique below her workshop in 1997, Delphine-Charlotte Parmentier became the ‘go to’ costume jeweller for the city’s fashion savants.  This resulted in a close working relationship with Karl Lagerfeld, creating jewellery and buttons for Chanel’s cruise and couture collections.

Lined ring, £100 / Large Drops ring, £114

Taking inspiration from childhood days spent at her grandparents button and belts studio, Delphine-Charlotte’s latest collection plays with different textures such as silve, satin rope, leather and Swarovski crystals.

Bringing together futuristic and Art Deco shapes, the pieces are actually quite large and imposing.  The collection is priced from £67 for a pair of curved earrings up to £624 for a satin rope and Swarovski crystal neck tie.

Madalena Bracelet, £244

Delphine-Charlotte Parmentier brings her couture aesthetic to her ready-to-wear pieces and maintains a traditional, hand-made approach to jewellery.
